What You Will Complete

Since you are already a certified Scuba Diver, you only need to complete the “second half” of the standard Open Water course:

  1. Knowledge Development: Finish theory modules 4 and 5, including a short quiz and the final exam to confirm your understanding of dive planning and safety.
  2. Confined Water Sessions: Complete the final 2 skill sessions (Sessions 4 and 5) in a pool or shallow water to master advanced buoyancy and safety drills.
  3. Open Water Dives: Complete the final 2 training dives (Dives 3 and 4) in the ocean or a lake to apply your new skills in a real-world environment.
  4. Water Skills Assessment: Demonstrate your comfort in the water with a continuous 200m/yard surface swim (or 300m with mask/fins/snorkel)

  • Duration: 1 to 2 days.
  • Prerequisites:
    • Proof of PADI Scuba Diver certification.
    • Minimum age of 10 years (10–14 year-olds earn Junior Open Water status).
    • Ability to swim and medically fit for diving.
