Course Content & Requirements
The upgrade typically takes 1 – 2 days and bridges the gap between your current certification and the full Open Water rating:
- Academic Training: Complete the final three chapters (4–6) of the Open Water Diver digital manual and pass the final multiple-choice exam.
- Confined Water Sessions: Master the final pool or shallow water skills (Sessions 4 & 5).
- Open Water Dives: Complete at least two additional training dives in the sea to practice your new skills in a real-world environment.
Prerequisites
- Must hold a current SSI Scuba Diver (or equivalent) certification.
- Minimum age: 10 years old.
- If your last dive was more than 6 months ago, a Scuba Skills Update (refresher) may be required before starting the upgrade.
