2 Days – 4 Days  to complete the in-water training, after the independent study of the knowledge development portion.

The training typically involves:

Knowledge Development:
Theoretical learning about stress management, emergency procedures, equipment considerations, and accident management.

Rescue Training Exercises:

Practicing skills in confined water (like a pool) or open water in controlled conditions, such as assisting a tired or panicked diver, responding to an unresponsive diver, and using emergency oxygen equipment.

Open Water Scenarios:
Applying knowledge and skills in realistic, simulated open water rescue situations.

Key Skills You Will Learn:
Self-rescue techniques
Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
Emergency management and equipment considerations
Rescuing panicked or unresponsive divers (at the surface and underwater)
Towing divers to a boat or shore
Conducting search and recovery procedures for a lost diver
Administering first aid and CPR (as part of the EFR prerequisite) and emergency oxygen.

Prerequisites:

To enroll in the PADI Rescue Diver course, you must meet the following requirements:

*Be at least 12 years old (those under 15 earn a Junior Rescue Diver certification).
*Hold a PADI Adventure Diver certification (or equivalent from another organization) with the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive completed, or a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification.
*Have valid Emergency First Response (EFR) Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training completed within the past 24 months.
This course can often be taken in conjunction with the Rescue Diver course if needed.
*Be medically fit for diving.
