Prerequisites:

To enroll in the PADI Divemaster course, you must meet the following requirements:
•Age: Be at least 18 years old.

•Certification: Hold a PADI Advanced Open Water and PADI Rescue Diver certification (or qualifying certifications from another organization).

•Medical Statement: Be fit for diving and provide a medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.

•EFR: Have completed Emergency First Response (EFR) Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months.

Logged Dives: Have at least 40 logged dives to start the course and a minimum of 60 logged dives to earn certification.

What You Will Learn:
The course is a comprehensive program that combines knowledge development, water skills exercises, and practical application through workshops and hands-on assessments.

•Knowledge Development: Topics include the role of a Divemaster, supervising activities, diver safety and risk management, the business of diving, dive theory (physics, physiology, equipment, etc.), and environmental awareness. This can often be completed via PADI eLearning online.

 

 

 

•Water Skills and Stamina: You will fine-tune your personal diving skills and complete stamina assessments,
which include timed swims and a tired diver tow.

 

 

 

 

•Practical Application: You will gain real-world experience by conducting dive briefings, mapping a dive site, organizing a search and recovery project, assisting instructors with student divers, and leading certified divers on tours.

 

Career Opportunities and Program Formats:

You can complete the course in several ways:
•Intensive Course: A fast-track option completed in a few weeks (10 days of group training plus additional individual assessment days), ideal for those with time constraints.

•Internship: A longer-term program (often 4-6 weeks or up to several months) where you work alongside dive center staff, gaining extensive practical experience and mentorship.

•PADI eLearning: get started with the free Introduction to Divemaster course online and start the theoretical portion online for a fee, and then complete the in-water components with Mr. Diver Red Sea at your convenience.
